-- Aah, it's nice to be back in the mix. Hope the break was good for all of you. It was for me, as I spent some time with the family and even played golf. Good stuff.
-- Chad Billingsley must be injured or hiding an injury from Uncle Joe. He's been underwhelming in four of his last six outings, culminating in a train wreck against Houston last night. DL trip, Chad? I bought into him bigtime this year on two of my teams (keeper and money). His line from yesterday made me throw up inside my mouth.
-- If you are waiting for Carlos Quentin to give your team a much needed power boost, you may be waiting for a little bit longer. His foot's messed up, and it'll give him fits for the rest of the year. Plantar Fasciitis is the thing that sidelines basketball players for entire seasons (anyone here remember Toni Kukoc?). Don't cut him, but don't give up anyone useful for him right now, either. Too much risk for that uncertainty.
-- Two homers for Raul Ibanez in his first game back. Owners, take heed. Bock told you to sell him already, but he can be viewed over the last few years as a very solid second-half performer. I'm gonna tell you to keep him unless you get blown away with an offer. In other words, enjoy the ride unless someone offers you a better ride.
-- Those of you who said, "Naw, man, I am gonna be set when Aramis Ramirez comes back," are officially screwed. Read this if you don't believe me. Yes, I'm aware that hit a home run last night but I wouldn't count on too many of them from here on out. Yes, he'll hit offspeed mistakes over short fences. But so can this guy.
-- Have you grabbed Edwin Encarnacion this week? He still might be available in your league if the majority of owners in your league are in a post-All Star break coma. Cheap power at no cost and worth a look, especially if you ignored Bob and didn't jump on Phat Garrett. Edwin is streaky, currently raking and may give you a good month or two, maybe more.
